A sociological study on the topic "The role of the veteran community in the development of a democratic society" has begun

Research of the role of the veteran community in building a democratic society

The research includes qualitative and quantitative components. Six focus groups have already been held in Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kropyvnytskyi, Chernihiv and Lviv.

1,000 personal interviews are also planned in all regions of Ukraine, taking into account the regional distribution of persons who have the appropriate status, the type of settlement (regional centers, large, medium and small cities, villages and towns), as well as the gender quota (the total number of respondents female veterans should be 5%).

Conclusions The research will contain recommendations regarding:

– effective mechanisms for the realization of the rights and freedoms of the ATO/OO veteran as a person and citizen;

- effective tools for increasing the civic competences/abilities (knowledge and skills) of veterans for their maximum involvement in the development of a democratic Ukrainian society.

The research is carried out by the YARMIZ Center with the support of the Representative Office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine in partnership with the Kyiv Institute of Management Problems named after Gorshenin.
