4 online meetings of lawyers, representatives of the NGO partner organization "Yuridichna Sotnia" were held with the families of military personnel and veterans in order to raise awareness of rights and guarantees from the state and algorithms of interaction with state bodies.
Lawyers provided information and consultation on the following topics:
Captive, missing and deceased: rights of family members
Here, we figured out what to do if a loved one was captured or went missing. Where to go and what social assistance is provided for relatives.
Considerable attention was paid to what state support is provided to the families of fallen soldiers.
One-time monetary assistance to servicemen who were injured and families of dead servicemen
In this topic, we focused on the documents that should be prepared, on the grounds for refusing to pay OGD and the procedure for appealing the refusal. If we talk about financial aid in case of injury, then a number of urgent questions from military personnel were also considered here, namely, how to get a certificate about the circumstances of the injury, about the procedure for passing the VLK/MSEK, the amount of the aid.
Benefits for veterans and their families
Free medicines and dental prostheses, a trip to a sanatorium and treatment center, benefits for paying for utilities and purchasing their own housing are only a small part of what veterans and their families are entitled to. At the meeting, the procedure for receiving these benefits was analyzed in detail.
VLK: causality and meaning of decisions
This meeting focused on the procedure for passing the military medical commission, receiving a referral and appealing the decisions of the VLK. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, consult with specialists, and receive a "road map".
As a result, military personnel, veterans and members of their families received tools for solving such complex and painful issues - supporting materials, an algorithm of actions and legal support.
The series of meetings took place within the framework of the project "Formation of a system of psychological support for defenders and their families as a guarantee of the stability of communities" with the support of the European Union in Ukraine and the International Fund "Renaissance" within the framework of the joint initiative "European Renaissance of Ukraine".
