Within the project "The right to be happy» we invite parents and teenage children (13-15 years old) who suffered from the horrors of war to work with psychologists.
The meetings will be held in Kyiv. The number of places in the pilot group is limited (up to 15 children), however, each registered person will receive a memo "How to establish communication with a child affected by the war" created during the project.
Psychosocial support will be provided by professional psychologists on the basis of the "YARMIZ" Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Center, Kyiv, with the support of European Union in Ukraine and "Renaissance" International Foundation (within the project EU4USociety: Civil Society Partnership Project).
During two months (July - August), you and your child will be able to recognize your own conditions, learn to help yourself and others, find resources in the recovery process, find new friends, receive psychosocial support, learn group interaction. Adults will be able to understand both their conditions and and the condition of the child, learn successful communication with children, acquire self-help skills, skills to overcome difficult situations.
In order to monitor your condition, the project provides three diagnostic tests for all participants: at the beginning of the project, after two months of work and at the end of the project.
Support groups for parents and children will work.
Program includes: group classes, individual consultations, a visit to the Kyiv Hippodrome, a performance by the "Playback Theater" and classes with specialists from the Central Palace of Creativity of Children and Youth.
Who can apply?
The war affected every Ukrainian in its own way. If you think that you and your teenager need professional support, read carefully symptoms that require specialist treatment: trouble falling asleep, reactions to loud noises, shivering, agitation, desire to hide, isolate from the world, feelings of guilt, feelings of shame, tremors of hands or feet, severe fatigue, inability to remember a large amount of information, suppressed anger or fear, inability to show emotions, frequent crying, night terrors, constant reliving of stressful situations from the past (flashbacks).

Participation in the project is free. Expenses related to meals, participants' travel and accommodation will not be covered.
The main requirement for participation in the project is conscientious attendance at all project events.
Where? The meetings will take place in Kyiv at the base of the YARMIZ veterans' center (a 5-minute walk from Independence Square).
Children's groups: work with children will take place for two months three times a week on weekday evenings (2-2.5 hours).
Adult groups: the first month three times a week (at the same time as the children). The second month - twice a week (the schedule will coincide with the children's schedule).
