The photo exhibition "Children of War" was organized in partnership with the YARMIZ Center and NGO "New Donbas", with the support of DocUA Platform and Caritas of Ukraine. The protagonists of the photographs by photographer Saulius Paukštis (Lithuania) and Ukrainian photo artist Yuliana Domashchenko were children from the frontline town of Stanytsia-Luhanska, taken in September 2014 next to the destroyed "Gradam" school.
The grand opening of the exhibition in the display area of the YARMIZ Center was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine Valdemaras Sarapinas with his wife and by Inna Kniurene, Cultural Attaché.
YARMIZ production studio hosted an international television bridge Vilnius - Kyiv - Stanytsia-Luhanska, during which the authors, organizers, children participating in the project had the opportunity to talk with veterans and members of their families, guests, and watch the movie stories of the heroes together. At the end of the telecast, children from the families of veterans visiting the YARMIZ Center and children from the front-line town of Stanytsia-Luhanska exchanged gifts for St. Nicholas Day.
The highlight of the event was the screening of the documentary “Bogdan's Happiness” with the participation of the director Larysa Artiuhina, as well as a conversation with Bogdan, the main character of the film. During the teleconference bridge Kyiv (YARMIZ Center) – Mykolayivka, Donetsk region, Bogdan asked for help for his friend Arseniy, who needs a surgery. The YARMIZ Center became the executor of the boy’s dream: Arseniy’s mother received the necessary drugs for her son’s treatment, and Bogdan received soccer cleats and a ball.
